Docue launches MCP connection for AI tools

Docue's new MCP connection brings contract management features into supported AI tools, such as Claude and ChatGPT. You can search for documents, check contract terms and prepare contract work in the AI environment you already use.

What is MCP?

MCP, short for Model Context Protocol, is a way for an AI tool to use other services, such as Docue. Once the connection is set up, you can ask the AI tool to find information and carry out permitted actions for you in connected services.

Docue has launched an MCP connection that lets you use Docue features in supported AI tools. In practice, you can work in Claude, ChatGPT or another compatible AI tool and ask it to use material and features from your Docue account in the same conversation.

What can you do with Docue's MCP connection?

Docue's MCP connection is especially useful when you already prepare contract or document work in your own AI environment and want AI to handle as much of the work as possible. You can ask AI to do things in Docue such as:

  • search for documents in your Docue archive by name, counterparty or another filter

  • find information in a single contract, such as a notice date, amount or other contract term

  • compare a draft contract with earlier similar contracts

  • set reminders for upcoming contract dates

  • find a suitable Docue document template and pre-fill a draft based on the details you provide

The connection is based on personal Docue credentials. A user cannot access documents, information or features in a Docue account through MCP unless they already have permission to access them in Docue.

The MCP connection is included in all our paid plans.
